Avocado

The avocado is a tree of Mexico and Central America known as the butter tree. It was a staple in the diet of the indigenous people of Latin America. It is a special fruit used as a vegetable and has a buttery taste and yellow thick flesh. It is oval in shape and the skin ranges in colour from dark green to black.

When it comes to buying avocados, we choose those that do not have bruises or marks. If they are too hard, we leave them at room temperature for 2-3 days until they ripen. They also ripen faster if we put them in a paper bag.

Avocados are rich in omega 3 fats and monounsaturated fats, ingredients that protect the heart!

They are eaten plain with a little lemon and a few drops of olive oil and a lily nut, but also in salads, accompanying seafood, with the best known dip being guacamole!
