Peltes or tomato paste is a paste made from summer tomatoes, which are delicious and fleshy and used in cooking.
In the past, many times grandmothers and mothers would spread paste on slices of bread and give it to the children as an afternoon snack when they were playing in the neighborhoods.
To prepare the tomato paste, the tomatoes are peeled, mashed and then dried to remove their liquid. The tomato pulp is dried either in the oven at a low temperature or in the sun. In some regions, herbs are added.
Homemade sun-dried pelt cannot be compared to the ready-made pelt of the trade. Its taste is unique and its preparation process is not difficult.
