Apple sauce

Simple, easy and quick recipe because nothing should go to waste!

Equipment

  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 rod blender
  • Jars

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo apples
  • Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 vanillin
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • @ Peel and cut the apples into cubes.
    @ Put the apples in a pot, add water, enough to cover them.
    @ Add the rest of the ingredients.
    @ Boil for 15 minutes or until the apples are tender.
    @ Mash them with a stick blender
    @ Put the sauce in sterile jars and seal well.

Notes

@ With the apple sauce we make use of the apples that are left in the drawer of the fridge and we don't want to eat them anymore!
@ To preserve the applesauce we apply the well-known old method. Put the sauce in the sterile jars, turn them upside down and let them cool. This way they keep for several months.
@ With the applesauce we accompany pork, potato wedges, eat it as a jam, put it in apple strudel,  apple cake.
