Homemade almond butter

Almond butter is a healthy, delicious and very easy preparation. This butter can be made at home in a few minutes of time and will delight you. You can also use other nuts like hazelnuts, peanuts, cashews!

Equipment

  • 1 baking pan
  • 1 piece of parchment paper
  • 1 blender
  • 1 jar

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups almonds (280 grams)
  • 3-4 tablespoons vegetable oil (of your choice)

Instructions
 

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 170oC
    2. Lay out a sheet of parchment paper on a baking tray and place the almonds, spreading them out.
    3. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
    4. Let them cool and add them to the blender.
    5. Add 3-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil and grind for 1 minute.
    6. Using a spatula, scoop the almonds from the sides of the mixer, push them towards the blades and grind again until you get a thick cream.
    7. Put it in a jar and close it tightly.

Notes

  1. When I first thought of making almond butter, I thought it was difficult, time-consuming and would create chaos in my kitchen. But I was proven wrong and now he gives you my version.  
  2. I prefer to use raw almonds and roast them in my kitchen oven. This makes the almond butter taste better and makes the whole kitchen smell great!
  3. We need to know that not all fruits have the same amount of oils. Cashews, macadamias, peanuts have more oils than almonds, but this is not a hindrance in our preparation. We'll just add some vegetable oil that we have at home. No need to buy anything special!
  4. You can store it in the fridge, but it will become hard and not easily spreadable.
  5. If the mixture in the blender is dry, add a little more oil to the blender. This can happen if the almonds are not of good quality. Always choose very good nuts and not dehydrated and stale ones.
  6. If you want you can use coconut oil, avocado oil and any other vegetable oil you like or have at home.
