Homemade Garam Masala

Garam Masala is a spice blend that has a nice aroma and a moderately hot taste.

Equipment

  • 1 frying pan
  • 1 mortar

Ingredients
  

  • 1 stick cinnamon (5pcs) broken into pieces
  • 1/3 whole nutmeg broken into small pieces
  • 10 capsules green cardamom crushed in mortar
  • 1 teaspoon kimono
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon carnations

Instructions
 

  • 1. Heat a heavy-bottomed pan.
    2. Crush the capsules of cardamom in a mortar and pestle, and collect the seeds.
    3. Add all the spices to the pan, shaking it until they start to release their oils and smell nice.
    4. Transfer them to the coffee grinder and grind them.
    5. Keep the grated mixture in a jar that is tightly sealed.
    6. Can be kept for up to 6 months.
